ANNOUNCEMENT

APPLY to the Smiling World Accelerator Program in the Vietnam

Dear Friends,

Following LGT Venture Philanthropy's successful launch of the Smiling World Accelerator Program (SWAP) across Southeast Asia this year, we are delighted to announce the new call for applications to the SWAP 2013 (www.lgtvp.com/swap), our tailored 9-24 month program for social entrepreneurs in Asia and Latin America who seek to take their organizations to the next level of growth and impact.

The SWAP provides hands-on business consulting and customized financial support to outstanding, early-stage organizations with a high potential for scale and positive impact. In the Vietnam, this program is being run in proud partnership with local incubator CSIP. To further increase access to financial support, LGT Venture Philanthropy connects suitable SWAP candidates with vetted local Smiling World Angel Investors for co-investment opportunities.

The SWAP 2013 is now open to organizations operating in Vietnam and other participating countries (www.lgtvp.com/swap/partners).

A follow-up live event will be held in Ho Chi Minh City on Thursday, 20th December 2012. Please register via email with the SWAP Vietnam Team at swap_vietnam@lgtvp.com .

The Global Social Venture Competition – Southeast Asia Launch Early Mentoring Program "

The Global Social Venture Competition (GSVC) is the largest and oldest student-led business plan competition providing mentoring, exposure, and prizes for social ventures from around the world. The mission of the GSVC is to catalyze the creation of social ventures, educate future leaders and build awareness of social enterprises. The competition supports the creation of real businesses that bring about positive social change in a sustainable manner.

Each year, entrant teams from around the world compete for over $45,000 while gaining valuable professional feedback on their ventures.

This year, GSVC-Southeast Asia has added the optional Early Mentoring Program to help teams improve their quality of business ideas and executive summary preparation. Teams who enroll in this program will be counseled by the community or international business professionals and get a chance to win prize money of USD 500.

Team can join the Mentoring Program by answering 6 questions on www.gsvc-sea.org and send it to the mailbox gsvc.sea@gmail.com by 4 Nov 2012. If teams do not enter this optional Mentoring Program, they can still enter GSVC-SEA by submitting executive summary in the Executive Summary Round due on 12 Jan 2013.
